4 Negroni Recipes you have to try this Negroni Week!

It’s Negroni Week and we’re celebrating with the our perfect Negroni serve and some twists on the classic that’ll turn even the biggest Negroni sceptics into NEGRONI LOVERS!

Negronis, a popular Italian cocktail, are all the rage in the drinking scene right now. While they’ve been around for over 100 years, it’s only recently that it has moved from being an ‘in-the-know’ order to a more widely acknowledged and marketed drink.

That being said, we know they aren’t for everyone. So, we’ve given you our signature Negroni serve as well as a couple more interesting twists on the classic, to help you understand why it’s such a special tipple.

Blood Orange Negroni:

Our blood orange twist on the classic. 

Ingredients:

25ml Didsbury Gin Blood Orange & Ginger

25ml Campari

25ml sweet vermouth

Method:

In a mixing glass, add ice and all ingredients.

Stir to chill, for about 30 seconds.

Strain into an old-fashioned glass with one large ice cube.

Garnish with an orange peel twist.

Negroni Sour

Imbibe called this a ‘Negroni for beginners’

Ingredients:

15ml Didsbury Gin Original

15ml Campari

15ml sweet vermouth

15ml simple syrup

20ml lemon juice

Garnish: grapefruit wedge

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.

Fine strain into a glass filled with ice.

Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit.

Strange Weaver:

A refreshing summer take on the classic negroni created by San Fran bartender Dominic Alling

Ingredients:

25ml Didsbury Gin Blood Orange & Ginger

25ml ARLU Blood Orange (Our favourite rum to use, but any good quality dark rum will suffice)

15ml sweet vermouth

15ml Campari

15ml almond syrup

15ml lemon juice

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice & shake to chill.

Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.

Garnish with fresh orange peel twist. 

Rum Negroni:

Using our sister brand ARLU, enjoy a more mellow and sweeter toned tipple with rum in place of gin.

Ingredients:

25ml ARLU Blood Orange Rum

25ml Campari

25ml sweet vermouth 

Method:

To a mixing glass, add ice, rum, Campari and sweet vermouth.

Stir well, until the glass feels cold (about 30 secs).

Strain into an old-fashioned glass with one large ice cube.

Garnish with an orange peel twist, or a slice of blood orange when in season.
